why did PORSCHE make our engines an interference design?

OY! Two things to mention.. 1. The miata is a grand machine for those who can fit. I'm 6'4" and there isn't a chance in heck I can get comfortable in it. It's simplicity is it's masterpiece. #2, don't blame the bean counters for anything at Porsche, at least not back in our day. They used a lot of alloy, and used other designs that were expensive to produce..No, my friends, the bean counters were NOT asked for input. Here in America, the land of cookie-cutter Fords and Chevies, all running on the same platform and same parts, screw performance, safety and technology, sacrifice individuality and quality, all in the name of the mighty dollar..the bean counter here rules...and I hate the SOB!

Thanks!
It is a Low Profile Headlight Kit. It was a listing in the Miata.net website. You can buy them now from many sources. Here is one site that has them: http://www.miata.org/cmt/bsp/
I sold the car in 1997 (a 1993 Miata) for US$14k

Well I have to get my .02$ in on this.
I have an 88 924S. A friend of mine recently sold his 944 and bought a 99 miata.
I helped him do some suspension mods. Adjustable shocks , stiffer springs. What a huge pain in the *** that was to do. He had done some mods to the intake, I'm not sure what but I know it costed money.
The car handled great, looked great. But compared to my 924S it had no power and felt like a little plastic toy.
And I don't even want to think about how much more money he had in it at that point, than I had in my 924.
And maybe we were dumbasses, but we battled those ****ing struts for hours. This was not an easy car to work on!
