Default Stumble out of high speed corner

I've searched and previously came up with a couple leads but now can't find anything.

Coming out of high G corners (VIR North 2, 5, 17, etc) on WOT the car just falls on its face. If I come out of the throttle and get back on its fine. If I modulate the throttle and don't hit WOT its fine.

My first thought was fuel. Almost like air in the lines for a moment. My second thought (and earlier search info) says electrical. What say you? I'm a little confused as how a short could cause these exact situations but I'd really like to be enlightened. I'm sure there is someone out there with DE experience that has seen this.

Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Josh

Brand new TPS and tests fine.... and AFM checks out ok. Symptoms can not be replicated in straight line hot or cold. I tried for 3 hours on the way home. Only problem in high G corners once car is heated up. ~1/2 tank of gas at the time.

Previous searches suggested something about cable going to starter shorting at high G?

Thanks.

For what it's worth, I'm encountering something similar (in second gear at between 3,500 and 4,000RPM) and am increasingly suspicious of the electrics. I've changed the TPS and plugs (which are clean), and the car is using a new Bosch (SciVision) MAF.

When it happens in mine, I can hear the wastegate actuating. How about yours?

Edit: mine happens in a straight line, as well, though.

I used to get a similar thing in an e30 bmw at the track. Would only happen in left turns at high speed and decent G. Turned out to be a fuel starvation problem and a fuel pump on the way out.

I'm still fairly new to this 944 game but I'm lead to believe that there's some pretty decent baffling going on in the fuel tanks to counter this to an extent but something to consider all the same.

My first thought went to fuel because when I looked down the gauge was very low. As I slowed in a straight line it came back up though so I'm sure it was just fuel moving around. I haven't heard anyone have major problems with fuel starvation under corning so I'm assuming the baffling is adequate. It was my last run group so I didn't have a chance to fill up and see if it would do the same thing.

I had a similar issue with a specific RPM bracket but that would happen no matter what gear I was in and even if sitting still. The new TPS solved that.

Anyone have any luck finding the info about blown out starter cable causing a short under corning?

thanks.

Sorry, I didn't notice the waste gate actuating but I'm sure boost dies when the engine cuts out.

You should only really get fuel starvation on right-hand turns.

Always keep oil at top mark. No higher, no lower.

Come to think of it, the corners I mentioned are right handers. I'm trying to think if it happened in "left hook"...but I don't think so because I never hit WOT. I recall it only happening when the petal hit the floor.

What were we talking about? I can't remember anything but Canuck's avator.

It may have happened in "nascar"...which would be a left. I'm having trouble remember now.

Any other ideas or info anyone can find? I'm having trouble finding anything more regarding electrical shorts under g load. Thanks.

Is it a fairly violent glitch or is it just a sudden lack of power?

I have suffered similar engine cut out on these RH turns at VIR in my NA track car. Was this on a full tank of fuel??? If so it may be a vent problem...I solve it by always taking the gas cap off and replacng it before a run when the tank is full, listen to see if you are getting air equalization when you do this. Once the fuel level is lower ...no problems...If this is not the case you need to check your electrical grounds.
