Well that's the disadvantage of the 16v S is you sacrifice some of the bottom end torque for the high end horsepower that it gets, so you'd have to be on it to notice the S is faster. That's probably why they bumped the S2 up to 3L to get extra torque and also have good high end hp from the 16v DOHC design.

I found that timer and confirmed my times(sort of). Having a timer is neat ... but one that is set up to count tenths of seconds would be nice. I did a rolling 0-60(to save the clutch) from 3-5 mph on the start and the clock read 5s ... I would imaging that was almost 6s, but it's impossible to tell and I was busy looking at the road. If that clock is right ... my 0-60 time should be pretty fast. 0-60 is almost always faster than 5-60 rolling start, right?

Fishey - I think all 944S2 models had LSD ...

New2Porsche -

Are you sure all S2's have LSD? I spin my tires with no problem.

LSD was an option on S2's, not standard.

My S2 doesn't have LSD...wasn't it only m030 ones (very rare) that came with LSD standard?

Very few S2 were delivered with LSD. Its option code 220 (seperate from the M030 option).

My mistake ... Having a little trouble keeping the facts straight for each model ...

The only S2 I test drove had LSD ... man that was fun in the rain. The 'one wheel peel' on the standard Diff is not fun at all, plus it's unpredictable.
