Default A/C Leaking at Footwells

Summertime is coming around here in Texas, so I've began using the A/C extensively in the 944S2. Upon doing so, I have noticed a considerable amount of 'sweat' coming out at the foot wells. Is this supposed to happen?

The condensate drain tubing must be plugged or missing.

I believe the drain tube is located behind the radio, an elbow shaped tube.

Cheers,
Larry

Agreed. My miata used to pour water on the passenger's feet, and it was simply a clogged drain hose.

Okay, I will check it out asap. So I'd simply remove the radio, find the hose, slip it off and unclog it? Should I be worried about the water leaking into other compartments, or does it typically just go out onto the floorboard?

Do I need some sort of pin extractor to get the factory Blaupunkt radio out? All I see are very small holes on each corner of the head unit.

A finishing nail in each hole will generally do it, or the tools could be in your audio information packet in the glovebox. Push in straight, when you feel resistance, go a little further and stop.

Make the radio extracter by cutting a coat hanger an make it into a "U" shape. Push it in and it will pull the radio right out.

I just tried the coat hanger trick, multiple times at that, and the radio simply won't release.

I went on to fabricate some nails so that they would fit perfectly with no slack. Even with that, the radio still won't release from it's mounting. I push the extractor ends in simultaneously, feel resistance at a consistent point and continue to push slightly further until my pins/coat hanger ends stop. Again all four are in at the same time, it just doesn't release.

So what's it take to get this bloody thing off?!

The problem I had was that the nails went on the wrong side of the piece they are supposed to release, making it HARDER to remove. Try pushing in at a different angle, don't remember for sure but I think you want to push the spring-loaded piece towards the inside of the radio.
