Instrument cluster ???
Has anyone tried to remove the clear plastic cover for the instrument cluster? I am wanting to remove to clean and freshen up the plastic but can't figure out how the can be removed. Odd I know......

You will need a very small and thin flat head screwdriver, a little hammer, and lots of time. The plastic is glued on to the housing. But while tapping the screw driver and going very slowly you will be able to seperate it from the housing. IT WILL CRACK in spots but it cannot be seen. Just make sure you completely get it detached before pulling on it or you will break it. Why would you do this if your not installing the gauge bezel rings?

I may put in the gauge bezels later but just want to clean it up first.
Mine has a strange sticky film. It's not on the instruments themselves, just the housing area around the guages....Any ideas?

Mine (the one that fell on the floor) kinda clicked back into place and then was held tight by the outside bezel. I would not glue it back in myself... I didnt even know they were glued in until now.

I pulled mine off when I did my light bulb upgrade, I wanted to paint the guage shroud. It came off real easy, BUT, you have to go slowly and be very gentle. When I put it back together, I used silicon, that way I could take it apart easily in the future and It would take out any vibration.

The idea of not glueing it again is a good. I'll probably go the silicone route....
