Post OT: 1986 & 1990 300ZX TT vs 944 Turbo

Ok, sorry I know these posts aren't approved of or what not, but I love them they always get tons of replies and are great to watch/read. I did a few searches looking for posts about something like this, and only found mine awhile back about a 280ZX. How do the cars match up? I'm assuming the 1990 300ZX TT by a pretty fair margain in the speed department, what about handling? Any experiences on the road/track?

Oh come on! I bet Craig's the kind of guy that has other kids do his homework huh? Do some of your own research; hit that 'search' button in the upper right hand corner. Someone posted scans of a magazine article comparing the 300ZX-TT vs. the TurboS.

Having owned both (a modified 300ZXTT, and my current near-stock TurboS). Completly different approaches to speed. The Z is the typical japanese 'throw-technology-at-it' approach, the porsche is all about tuning. The Z has bigger displacement, more cylinders, twin turbos, dual cams, variable valve timing, double-wishbones, electronic shocks etc.etc..Pretty much a generation ahead in technology.
Amazingly enough stock, they are almost identical in speed (I'm talking track times, don't know and don't care about drag racing )
The difference is entirely in 'breeding'. The porsche has a super-refined chassis, much, much better brakes and weighs-in more than 600lbs less. The TurboS is much more of a racer, the Z is much more rounded. (smoother, quieter, more refined).
My modded turbo Z (with ~396hp, big brakes (which still sucked) and a semi-developed suspension & race wheels & R-compounds) couldn't hold up to my friends near-stock (chipped, race pads, R-compounds) TurboS. I would kill myself just to keep up (with identically skilled drivers).

Swapping cars (driving his TurboS) was a revelation. It was, and still is, an awesome race car. By far still the best bang-for-the-buck racecar available. Sold my Z, bought a TurboS, never looked back.

danno- that's actually what I was wanting to hear here, I remember seeing someone post about it.. Thanks...

WHAT DOES IT MATTER? "search before you post" has become like religion for this board, everyone says it w/o consciously knowing why. You just say it, instinctively it's like people just sit around looking for it, I refuse to search the archives anymore haha, if you don't like it fine. I'm tired of 'worrying' what everyone is going to say, ****'em.

I have a link to the 300ZTT vs 951S article somewhere on my website (I am at my parent's house, about 110 miles from school right now, so I don't have access to my favorites folder here)...let me see if I can find it...hold on a sec...alright! Here is is: http://www.angelfire.com/ga/300zx/images/indexauto1189.html . Read away.

Hehehe! Yeah, she was kinda whacked...
.

She wasn't bi-polar...she was borderline personality damn it! I'm trying to call her tonight and maybe get the booty call...but I talked to one of her roommates and she was back with her ex-bf again! So...maybe I should pass on that one. She is so damn cute though...I have a picture on my digital camera of her, but I didn't bring the cable to hook it up...otherwise I would show you all what she looks like...maybe next time.
