Question 951 Sale as is or fix up and sale?

I have an 86 951 that I am getting ready to sale. It runs a drives great and the drivetrain is in great condition including the usual problem areas like the A-arms and clutch. The exterior needs painting and minor blemishes straightened. The interior is in good condition except for the standard cracked dash and the drivers seat is in poor condition. My problem is that the car has 204000 miles on it so I do not know if it would be worth the trouble to have the car painted and the drivers seat fixed before I try and sale it. I know it will increase the value but with so many miles will it be worth it. However the car would make an excellent start for a race/track car but I do not know how many people may be looking for something like that. I will be asking 4750.00 like it is but I do not know what the value of it would be with paint etc. Help me out guys let me know if anyone thinks I can sale the car as is.

Thanks
Chris

Question

What color is it?
Do you have receipts?
Where are you located?

The answers to these questions would help to determine the correct asking price and whether or not it's worth doing the cosmetic stuf....

Where is the car located?

I'll give you $3500 for it right now.

951and944S,

If I can "sweet-talk" my CEO, I'll be there. Also looking to be on Alpe D'Huez next year for the Gran Boucle..........

What about you?

$3500 sounds about right for a 951 that needs paint, probably some interior work, and will no-doubt need an engine and turbo rebuild. I paid $6500 for my 87 about 2 years ago, and it had 87K miles on it. We all know it looked great, but ended up needing lots of work.
