I must say, I am compressed and underwhelmed with the z4.

I got it from a personal photo site. He has some great images. I found this link when I read some of his posts on the 996 forum.

Here are some other great images:

2005 Boxster Concept

Red image above looks a lot like the new 500SL...

Well that new beemer looks a bit average to me! as someone said, very TT-like. Looks like I might have to go back and show them how it should be done (I had a little to do with the look of the Z3!) (Trumpet blowing over...)

The Porsches certainly look nice though!

Jrock, for my sanity, I figured it would be easiest to do only strait on shots. A lot easier to cut and paste parts together. I couldn't find any other pictures of the '05 911, so I figured any recent 911 would work ok. Also, the Z4 one up top was pretty easy cause it was greytones and no reflections. I did a quick job on a 996 nose onto a turbo/S2, not as pretty. Its tougher to match red and reflections, but heres what I did.

Can you write a quick Photoshop expert training manual for me?? Thanks.

Don't care for the red 2+2 prototype though, looks like an Acura RSX.

BTW, I don't think I like the pic above as much as a stock turbo/S2 nose. Just doesn't seem to match up.

No manual needed. The pictures I made were almost entirely clone stamp and smudge. Usually in that order, and the smudge in less and less pressure.

Like I said, its so much easier on greytones and no reflections.

I think every picture on this tread is as photoshopped and unrelated to a new Porsche project as the picture right above this post...

Regarding the Z4: yeah, the front looks nice, and the photoshopped version is even better. BUT: it doesn't fix the UGLY, UGLY side profile of the car! There are more creases on the side of that car than there are folds at the annual tissue paper box convention! And the rear decklid looks like a 7-Series mated with a Volve to produce this car.

I don't think Porsche has to worry about BMW taking the 'styling' trophy away from them with the Z4....

Yuck!

I just hope is a FLAT 8 and not a V8... I will hate it if the nice sound of a flat/opposed engine and the heritage of these line of engines simply died away with the next generation of 911s...

If the top brass at BMW were smart, they'd send Chris Bangle on "sabbatical" and hire DanG! Makeover of Z4 is really crisp. Both Z4 and new 7 have a real "sleepy" look to the headlight treatments.
