Default Painting wheel center caps

Have heard about people painting the center caps for their wheels to match the Porsche colors. Anybody done this and recommendations on paint to use. Also any body got a set of old center caps that I could buy to try my painting skills. I have factory wheels on a 90 S2 cab

Most of us have used Testors model paint -- and it comes as a pen. Followed by clearcoat. This thread even mentions exactly which paint was used: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...cap-crest.html

I used spray paint, a gold leafing pen and Porsche touch-up black paint. Using tape to block off the areas I did not want to get painted. Here are the pics.

Wonder if it'd be worth enameling center caps... give them the same look as the hood badge...

I just bought the professionally done ones. The imperfections bother me.

I see in the other thread someone mentioned making a write up but I never saw it. What type of paint stripper was used? Will any brand paint pen work or is testors the only one to use?

Started the refinishing process today. Here they are after stripping and using the silver base on them. Tomorrow will be gold'ing the crest, then either Tuesday or Wednesday I'll do the red and black, then the following day I'll clear. IMO they look really good just silver so if I can't do justice to the crest I'll just leave them silver.

I like just the silver and black for the wheel centers. One trick I have found for touch up and brightening is to use a fine tip black magic marker.
