Post Parts in Phoenix?

Where would I go to buy gaskets, seals, ect...in the Phoenix area?

I need to pull my manifold, and maybe replace a few vacuum lines while I am in there. But I like to buy stuff impulsively so an actual store would be preferable to ordering online. Plus I would love to find a place to talk shop and giggle insanely about 951 ownership with other boost addicts.

Anyone?

Can help you with used parts: 22nd Street Auto. It's in the book. You might also search thru "Excellence" magazine for vendors in Phooenix. Call the Porsche Club of America (PCA). Terri Martz 1 480 753 3241

I think the place Bob S. was refering to is 20th Street Auto. Their website is here.
Also, if you are looking for a place to have work done or to dyno your car, talk to Chris Cervelli at Technodyne. He's one of the best. There are always lots of NICE porsches at his shop (944s, 951s, 914s, 911s, 930s, 993s, 996s, GT3's, etc...) Another place you might check is BAP autoparts for gaskets, belts, etc. And of course, there is always the dealer.
Hope this helps,
Dan George

P.S.
What part of Phoenix are you located in? I know a few Phoenix 951 owners are going on a drive with a corvett group on Sunday (wish my car was running already!), but we should get all the Phoenix Rennlisters togather for a bar night or something.

I am at I-17 and Bell.

I would love a Sunday drive, my car is running great, just smoking a bit, sigh. I need to rebuild the turbo, and probably do a bit of head work.(maybe valve seals, please, no broken rings) I am really hoping to drop a couple grand into her in a few months, but I have to save my pennies, as the move out here was obscene in its expense.

Just the other day, my turbo boost gauge decided to stick at 1 Bar, which I suspect is a vacuum line issue. I recently switched to 20W/50 and that thick oil seemed to shove all the lighter weight stuff out the pipe, so I was smoking more than usual for a few days. It seems that I almost always get a bit of wispy smoke under boost. I probably need a new cat as a result of all of it. But over all, she is a dependable daily driver. Just turned 86k, and still turns heads.

Some lucky bastard is gonna get to kill me on labor, I am sure. I like to wrench, but some things are just beyond my toolset and knowledge.

RedEye, you missed one hell of a drive this weekend. A few 951's got together with a local corvette club and made a back road trip to Prescott. Absolutely the most fun I have ever had in a car. There was about 300 turns on the 100 mile drive up there and the Corvette guys were really gracious, especially since the leaders wore my friend's bone stock 951 as a bumper sticker the entire way (no room to pass). They thought it was pretty cool to have the p-cars go along. Hopefully you can make the next one. I can't give many more details on the board as some people get a little upset when it comes to "spirited driving". If your car is not running on the next one we’ll find you a spot as a navigator. I can’t wait for the next one.

Water, As far as parts go, I get a lot of my stuff from Don Jackson Enterprises. They're reasonable, knowledgeable, and about four miles south of you. In respect to labor charges, give me a call first. I have a three-car garage with R/V parking as well as a pretty complete tools set. Most weekends we're doing some type of work on a p-car and we work pretty cheap (generally a 12 pack will pay the bill). Saturday we were up til 3a.m. trying to make sure that we had another 951 on the Vette run (ever see chocolate milk drain from a 951 oil pan when you least expect it?).

When your ready to go out for a drive (or just want to B.S. about the cars) fire me an e-mail and I'll give you my number, we usually have something fun set-up every couple of weeks.
