Post probably not a big deal but

i am one to check my oil often. usually when ever i fill up with gas. but today i turned my car on and the oil light went on. i was confused because i have no leaks and i just checked oil not to long ago. so i turn it off immediatly and restart and it is still on. so i check oil and it is perfect. only a thousand miles on it and at the center of the section on the dip stick where the lines are. then i start it and its fine. its probably nothing but if someone has had this happen and it turned into something bad please let me know.

on a seperate topic it was one wierd day for my. 20 min into work my supervisor got in a fight with a table saw and lost. so i had the lucky opportunity to play ambulance for the day with my 944 S. thank god there were no pigs on the way. and i had a close call with a dear today. thankfull for big brakes.

does anyone have problems shifting into second while turning to the right?

There are several wear points on the shifting linkage for the 944's. Two at the shift lever are the ball socket at the bottom and the side pin that slips through a short piece of tubing welded on the end of the very long link to the trans.

It does wonders to replace the shift lever including the plastic socket at the bottom. In some cases the tubing where the side pin goes is worn and needs to be sleeved. Drill and ream this to 7/16" (0.4375) and get a piece of thin wall brass tubing at a hobby or hardware store to press into it.

At the other end there is a rotational point that has some side to side adjustment. It's above the drivers (left) side axle on the top of the trans. This has a tendency to come loose as the nut is not a very good locking nut.

There is also a connection sleeve inside the front of the transmission. This sometimes comes loose but usually just impacts the front to back movement of the shifter.

Excessive wear is one reason why the leather shifter boot keeps coming off.

In some cases the trans mounts are loose and this lets the trans shift one way more than the other and the linkage can't travel that far.
