I need a muffler for my 84 944, and want a look and sound close to stock. I've pretty much decided to go with Dansk, but I'm getting mixed signals as to whether there are one or two versions out there - one close to stock, and the other sport.

The supplier closest to me (Automotion) says their's has 'original look and sound', but they also gave me the Dansk model number (92.440S), which I thought meant sport because it ends in 'S'. Both Pelican and Paragon go by the Porsche number (944-111-083-01), and couldn't provide a Dansk number to compare against.

Does anyone out there know if there are two versions, because if there are, I'll probably just play it safe and buy from Pelican which means a longer wait and more money. If anyone who has bought from Pelican still has paperwork that gives the Dansk model number, that might answer my question, too.

i bought a dansk from paragon. it looks like stock, is 100% polished stainless, and slightly louder than stock. i love it.

edit:

when i was shopping, i remember seeing that they had a kit with and without a resonator, but these are not interchangeable. the flange size is different. i dont ever recall there being more than one option for the same application

You may want to go to EBS and speak with Troy Chapman. I used to have the full Dansk catalog in .pdf that shows all their parts, but can't find it any longer. I'm pretty sure that I got it from Troy and subsequently ordered a bunch of Dansk 911 pieces from him. His price, service and follow thru was beyond excellent.

I got my dansk from 944online.com. I'm sure Ian would talk to you about this if you like. Mine was for the S so had the resonator. Man I love that thing...
