Post front valance modifications

I've been toying with some ideas for the front of my car. The valance sags a little (it looks like it MIGHT be a cracked mounting bracket but I haven't had time to look closely) and I'm not sure what the best thing to do is.. I don't have photoshop here at work, but here it is.. my Microsoft Paint special. Original is on the bottom.

Here's some pictures of a guy that's actually done it. I don't care much for the blackouts or um.. chicken wire, but this seems like a pretty good way to improve the appearance AND air intake.

Not bad looking, but If I were you, I'd fix whats wrong with it instead of cutting it apart.
Why not the Fiberwerks Nose or the Turbo Nose Perf Products sells?

I'd like to fix it too, of course.. I don't care much for the fiberworks nose, haven't seen the one from performance products.. I'll have to check it out. I really like the stock look of the 944 NA, just needs a little work..

You take your stock 150 and add the maximum each of your mods claims, plus another 10 for good measure.

Oh, also, yellow is inherently faster. http://www.beaterz.com

Nearly all of us 944-spec racers have done that exact modification to our cars.

The reason we do it is to improve engine cooling in hot races. I raced at 100F with the cross bar in the car and it ran quite hot. I removed it and the car ran normal even to 105F.

Here is picture of my car.

Can you recommend the best way to go about cutting it out? Also, does it still have the integrity to hold up? I'm not sure how much of a load it bears.. As you can see, its already a little screwed up, and the paint is flaking pretty badly, undoubtedly from a curb the previous owner must've gotten too close to.

You can cut it out pretty easily. Use a hack saw, or scroll saw. Just about anything really.

You do lose some structural integrity from taking it out. Mostly the lower portion needs to be supported some how and you need to add a screen to prevent large debris for hitting the radiator or condenser.

Many guys make an aluminin vertical support bracket and just bolt it in.

Here is another picture of a different car

Remember though these are RACE cars where looks are less important than function so cut at your own risk!

If I were you, I would definately put a piece of black tape across it for a month before you do any cutting. Looks a little strange if you ask me.

Exclamation

Hmm good idea but in current mod it looks lopsided. The fog lights looks out of place. Valance appears to sag
