Replacement shift boot
Any recommendations where I can find a replacement shifter boot for a 1990 S2 Cab? The top around the shifter **** is getting worn and starting to tear away from it.
Thx
BTW - Been a long time lurker, but decided to get registered, so Hi all! <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

Three Wheelin'
My sister picked off the leather on my boot, I had to mess around with it to get it pretty again, but I didn't have to spend any money...

I JB Welded it in there when it started moving, and redid the stripes as two strips of tape instead of using the Sharpie...Still looks good.

I replaced my shift boot last summer with one I got from Pelican Parts. It is OK, but I think the stitching and the fit could be better. I'd try an AGLA one if I were doing it again.
I'd also consider the $80 one that is already stretched over the shift **** rather than $40 for the do-it-yourself one. But it can be done, it's just a pain.
Finally, when you get it out check the rubber inner boot. That keeps the leather drying heat away from the shift boot. It turned out my inner boot had a hole in it in the same spot the leather had ripped. A new inner boot was about $20-30 from Paragon.

No experience with the other types, but I installed an AGLA boot last summer and I was very pleased with the result. It's not a difficult process, just takes a little patience and some finesse in removing the shift pattern insert without deforming the edges. I think the whole process took about an hour and a half from start to finish.

I just installed an AGLA shift boot and it liiks very good. It took some time and patience but I like it.
Now the steering wheel needs to be recovered. Then the dash needs to be recovered. Then the seats need to be recovered and so on and so forth etc etc.
