I'd rather have a porsche with a lincoln Mark VII engine in it... than a Mark VII with a porsche engine... those lincolns are some of the ugliest things ever put on 4 wheels!

Joe,

It wasn't the HP that made this car what it was. It was the torque. Don't forget that was RWHP, not at the fly. 500+ at the WHEELS. Besides the fact the car weighed 2800 lbs. Did you look at the dynos?

Yeah of course with any v8 you're going to get loads of torque hehe. Especially with a bigger displacement motor. Btw my buddies Nova weighs 2800 lbs too <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Those things are like empty tin cans.

I'm not saying that that 944 isn't extremely fast, it's insane. I'm just saying that getting a car there isn't very difficult nor expensive if you know what you're doing My friends Nova has a small block in it too, a 327, if he had gone for a big block (albeit more $) HP and torque in the 1000's isn't hard to achieve.

Hehe one of our buddies owns a speed shop and he has a 6 second rail. Pushing 2100+ hp, that guy is nuts.

Well, I don't know. I just thought the car was dang cool because when John made it he was 20 I think. Maybe 21. He's 27 now and has the Viper ACR I referred to.

Whether or not you hate the v8 conversion, you have to admit any 944 with 500 RWHP is pretty cool.

I have seen predator. It is truly a work of art! It is so good it looks factory.
What's up Scott? I still have the windshield trim if you need it.

Hey guys,

Interesting comment about the Lincoln motor in the Porsche. Hmmmm....Think something smaller would get the job down as well? I was thinking more like 331, etc. My dad heard 350, (Old Mustang owner and fan.) and freaked....this eventually will end up probably being a stealth install...Ho well :-)...

4.6 S/C from an SVT Pusstang would be acceptable. I'd rather see the OHC V-8 than a pushrod dinosaur LT-1. I was a Chevy man before converting to german cars, never did like Fords much. The 4.6 would be mean though! Again, I'm not a Ford guy! Dd anyone see the car that the 928 engine with the tuned header was from? 944 GT car, tube frame. Don't remember the site though, sorry.
