FINALLY! Saw a '44, gave a flash, GOT A WAVE!
#5
As usual, I pulled up next to a P-car today (Boxter) - waited for a second to see if the driver would glance over... then beeped my horn to get their attention (we were doing 80mph on the interstate, they should have been paying attention!!!) and then waved... only to get a BLANK STARE. Umm... duh, even if you Don't know that I'm in a P-car too, at least smile and nod.
I hate Atlanta. Still haven't gotten a wave/flash (from random sightings... I get waves from fellow PCAers when doing rallies).

oh - I don't even expect anything from 996s or boxsters, however, I've started flashing them all regardless, don't care. Maybe one day someone will flash back, but I'm gonna keep flashing away until every 996 owner in Vancouver knows what a 944 is. Keeps me from nodding off in standstill traffic.
older 911 guys on the other hand KNOW I'm there and what I am, but refuse to acknowledge me because I'm short 2 cylinders. Barstards!
Now 944 guys on the other hand, 99% of them wave -IF they see me! Most of the 44's I've seen so far have been parked or going too fast to notice me.

LOL - I know the feeling. I gave a p-car a wave once in my Cavalier while the 951 was in the shop. Took me a few minutes to realise my mistake..

wave/nod/flash whatever, just make sure you accompany it with a SMILE so that the other guy knows it's a signal of comaraderie, and not something else, like a radar trap or busted headlight.

Happens with 911's, 964's, 993's and 996's too. I've only seen a couple other 944's (white turbo on Lawrencville Hwy, primer gray N/A on 285 and an 86 951 Exactly like my car less than half a mile from my house!!!) and they didn't give acknowledgement either.

Was driing down A1A on Ft. Lauderdale beach today right along side of a 911 Cab, they had the top down, never even looked over, oh well. Saw a couple of other P-cars today too, alot here in Ftl. alot of boxters, sometimes get acknowledgement, got a wave from another 944 coming home from work a few weeks ago. But the strangest thing, Got some new people moving in accross the street from me, Guy has a red 951! and down the street is a red boxster, and this is on a short dead end canal street at that. Guess that just goes to show ya its a good neighbor hood.
Have fun all, Ftl beach had wonderful scenery today by the way.

How would one return a flash from behind? Must have been last November (the brief period my car ran), and a 951 pulled out behind me. He was only behind me for maybe 5 minutes, and then turned off onto a side street.
Before he did though, he flashed his hi-beams a few times. Being cold out, I couldn't wave through a closed window, and it's not like he could see me flashing.
