not the hatch glass - no separation noted !
so it all comes down to the sunroof seal
thanks guys - i got to do some shopping
any ideas who has the best deal on them ?

Shucks! I was so sure I finaly saw a problem posted posted that I could resolve. I was all proud of my self.. let us know what the problem was when you fix it.

Hey, it's me again. Just a suggestion - before you spend money on a seal, why not have a friend over and hose the car down real well (while you sit inside looking for drops of water). Have them force it into all the possible trouble spots. Since your carpet was saturated, you'll probably be able to see it coming in somewhere. Anyway, I've got no clue who has the best price on a seal.

I agree with Dales944. I used a water bottle to squirt water around areas I thought the leak might be coming from. The culprit turned out to be the door seal, near the top rear of the door. When we squirted water at that point the water poured in.

found it !
today i used a water hose to find my leak. i watched the droplets fall onto the rear seat from the sunroof.
now which seal do i change ?
the outer or inner ?
is the inner seal a piece of hard plastic ?
