Default No Cowl?

Anybody running without the cowl that covers the wiper motor etc.? I'd like to clean up under there (can see leaves and other stuff that I can't get to). I'm thinking that if there aren't any issues with leaving it off, I'd just run without it, making it easier to keep clean.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I am running without it but actually would like to have that piece. My 944 came without it from the PO. There doesnt seem to be any problem running without it.

Does anyone have a pic of this cover? I don't think mine has one either, but I didn't know there was one.

I use a leaf blower to get the dirt and leaves out from under that plastic shield. Works great.

Mine doesn't have one either. I've been told that only the cars that came with an alarm system had one to keep people from removing the battery connects. I want one too, doesn't seem to be a problem, but I would like to have one.

Mine is missing as well, I have noticed two covers, one is a cowl that covers the bottom strip of the windshield. Also, I have seen another in pictures that cover the fan cage mounted in the center about 18"-24" wide.

Here is a pic with the cowl (unfortunately not my car). I have a separate cover for the battery (no alarm).

Hello, This is not my car, but it does show a picture of the cowl that is on the 85.5> cars. Click on the link and the picture is the one with the hood up. The cowl is aft of the fire wall and under the window. I bought a new one from the Dealer with ship for $85.00.

I have that piece of plastic.

From what was being described, I thought it was another piece that covered the bottom of the windshield....

Thanks for the information!

hey corey944, did you ever find a cowl cover? I am still trying to figure this out. The only cover I have seen is for 944/2s. Did they make one for the 944/1s?
