in other words Mr. John,

Huge tq is ok, if you are towing and stuff.... but, the reason you tq is so much larger than your Hp is cuz, you not mantaining the TQ...... , there's a restriction thats killin' it up top and if it were to make it last another couple hundred revolutions (since the motor is already spinning that fast) the Hp increase would be HUGE... ( because HP is (tQX engine speed) / 5,252rpm ) and that "tq" # would be happening that many more times a minuite up top

I would not be concerned w/ how much air you can CRAM in and compress... that's gonna give you the TQ either way, but you need to flow it where the hp will benifit.

here's 2 senarios..

1- 460lbs/ft peak @ 4,450

means you will make

389rwhp @ that engine speed and then Hp will fall faster, because the engine speed is lower than the majic # where hp and tq cross over

2- 400lbs/ft peak @ 5,200

means you will make

396rwhpat that engine speed

AND you'll have a power band that's more than 1,200rpm wider

senario 1 means you make big #'s to impress your freinds...

but senario 2 means that not only is your power band more broad, but you WILL have a higher peak HP, since Tq was sustained so much longer
