I'am looking for new tire for the car and I'am very tempted by the yokohama AVS ES 100. I have the stock tires for an 84 944 (215 60 R15) therefore there isn't alot of choice in the summer tires category. I have looked at Pirelli P6000, but they are more expensive.
Any commentary on that particular tire or any recommendation for other tires in that size?
Thank you for your time

I have used the P6000. They are more like a grand touring tire than the previous generation P6. They have a very stable tread, but also very soft sidewalls. I think Yoks are more of a performance tire, ie autocross, because they have a stiffer sidewall.

In that size, I would definetely go for the AVS ES 100. They got very good reviews in a Road and Track test. Now, if you want to go up to a 225/50 15 there is the Bridgestone Potenza S03. I'll be ordering a set of these in a few weeks. Excellent in the wet, excellent in the dry, with a W speed rating. Downside is they are 130 apiece which is about 50 more than the ES 100.

You are confirming what I thought.
For snow driving like SCHLAG said , don't worry, the car has never seen snow, it will not see snow for as long has I own the vehicule.
