Default Pics of my new track day toy - 924S

Proof that you dont need loads of power to have fun.
Just get yourself a good 924S and put some decent suspension to it
My car has

Toyo R888 (195/50/15) on 931 cob webs
Koni yellow all oround with lowering springs at front
951 anti roll bars
Stripped interior
Full Roll cage
Sports headers
various other cheap bits and pieces.

I strongly recommend it, Its great cheap fun

tires are amazing. I Put them on two days ago on the 924S, but I have used them alot on various other Porsche cars, and they work great on the track (951S, 996, 996TT, 987S)
A bit noisy though...

Upgrade to 15x7's and put 225/50's on there. More grip = more smiles.

Not to hi-jack, but I was wondering (Joe) if you prefer this size to the 225/45's I'm running now, I kind of thought the higher gearing effect might help a little.

we have always run 225/50 R15 in 944 spec. I personally have run that size for almost 10 years. Back when I started 225/45 was not common.

Not really sure which is better, but since we are a spec class and we started on 225/50 it makes more sense to stay than to change. I would think the slightly taller gearing would be good to prevent running out of revs. It may be track dependant however as with gearing some places can help and others hurt.

I the difference gearing will not affect performance as much as it might allow you keep the car in gear rather running of revs it the middle of a corner. The other thing it does it to raise the oil pan a bit. I know guy who tested 205/50 R15 and he did not like gearing impact nor the proximity to the ground of the oil pan. Of course the car was set-up on 225/50 and never raise for a 205/50. I think a 205/50 is very close in OD to 225/45, but could be wrong.

thanx guyz,
I will seriously consider 205s or 225s on the back. Point is I put 195/50 to lower final ratio. Car is surely faster now
