oh sure, $17.80...anyone can buy it for that...
but I can win it on eBay For $30 + s/h and on eBay it says the dryer is for a 1986 944 turbo which we all know is the one that has forged rods! which means the a/c dryer gotta be the faster & stronger one right? maybe it's forged too?!!!
seriously, I just bookmarked ackit.com !

Re-(how do you know yours is bad?
this is the one part I never had to replace) . I have a problem where my air con clutch keeps cutting in and out apparantly due to a U/S dryer which causes the lines to freeze with condensation , and excess pressure to build up, which makes the pressure switch do its job and switch the system off. so i've been told anyway . By the way i no longer live in the UK where you can buy real beer I am now living in southern spain where it is also non existent <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Muso58, if your system is freezing up on the inside then you have moisture in there. The expansion valve freezes and won't allow freon to pass. Have a shop evacuate the freon, install new dryer if yours is really old, pull a vacuum on it to remove moisture, and put the freon back in. The dryer removes moisture and also serves as a resevoir for liquid freon and some oil.
