Mike Simard is making 640rwhp N/A with a 928 engine.
Theoretically should be able to make close to half that with a similar build in a 944 engine......

Thin hobbits. My kids outgrew the rear seats when they turned 10 -- and they're small kids.
I have removed the lower bolts from my rear seat upper half, and for track season, I can just pop the seat out. During the winter (if I think I might need the rear seat) I pop it in. The seat back stays in place without the bolts.

I removed the top of my back seat long ago. With the Rennline roll-bar in the car it couldn't fold up and down and the only way I could carry my 4 wheels and tools to any event was with the seat down, so out it went. I haven't missed it since. And anyway, there's no way someone could sit back there with the roll-bar. Even a thin, young hobbit.

You can certainly produce more than half the HP as compared to a 928. I will dyno my car shortly. I am told I should have at the least 300rwhp, at the top 350rwhp. Time will tell.

350rwhp isn't exactly uncommon for a turbo 944. Without boost, that's a different story.
If you are building a 350+hp normally aspirated 944 engine, please disregard.

I think one person mentioned fiberglass fenders, but if you're going to put fiberglass on the body, the way to do it (in my opinion) is to convert to euro bumpers (or "euro style" bumpers) and replace the bumper shocks with the brackets Porsche used to mount the euro bumpers. You will save a good amount of weight (those bumper shocks are heavy! not to mention steel bumper vs. fiberglass), and the weight saved will be taken from the extremities of the car so you're moving the center of gravity closer to the middle of the car
Not to mention that (in my humble and clearly unbiased opinion) euro bumpers look much cleaner than the US-spec bumpers
