I have a friend who was scammed by this guy. I started reading the beginning of the email to her and she broke down into tears. I was just curious of how to exact some to justice, and where to go for help. I saw the name of the georgian detective, but I'm not sure if that investigation is still going or whatever.

Please, please help.

Unfortunately, it is probably not "a guy" but a criminal organization somwhere off of our shores. There are whole teams of scammers trolling the internet looking to prey upon the dreams of others, whether it be the dream car, that diamond necklace for your wife, or the x-box never used with 30 games still in the wrapper for your kids. The old addege still holds true....If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Internet fraud has become a BIG problem!

Halfanapkin, I am sorry that happened to your friend. Tell her to go to her local Police Department and find out if they have a computer crimes division. Have her fill out a report, and Pray that the perps are dumb enough to be U.S. based.

I've since run into another, similar ad for a 3.2 Carrera 911 for like $6k. I had a feeling it was a scam, but e-mailed anyway. Story was a wife wanting to sell the Porsche post divorce (isn't that a joke somewhere?) and her "only stipulation" was to pay via eBay funds...just like this guy / group.

I think that's why people should always run a few forums to put out feelers. The Rennlist community knew about this/ese guy/s a looooooong time ago. Always the same pics, with a tilt to the story as people pick up on the feel of the seller/s. Its a shame but Craigslist doesn't seem to care... They were notified. The ads have been flagged tens of thousands of times...

I can't believe eBay isn't all over these guys. They surely have the resources to weed out these guys, just as surely as CL does not. Maybe it will take a lawsuit to get eBay's attention.
