Default My Daily Beater 924S Project!

Just doing some work on the daily beater so I figured I would give a few posts about the projects as they come along.

The first thing I needed to do before work began on the car itself was fix the toasted wiring harness.

I used 2 my bad harness along with a generic harness that had all my wire colors so I wouldn't have to use only red and black. This way someone could open the harness up for trouble shooting if needed.

Anyways, my mismatch of new and good old came out looking like this.

The biggest challenge was making an all new injector wiring harness as the old one was totally destroyed from age. You can also see I used lindseys speed/ref sensor harness.

I will post up more as It comes along but the engine rebuild/modification will start today.

Started on the bottom end of the motor..

Plastigage

Clearance

Factory calls for .020 - .098mm
My plastigage gave me just about a perfect .076mm so I was happy with that considering I had to get the crank polished out on STD bearings.

(note) cammera angle on measuring kinda makes it look a bit different then it did in person.

looks great. Keep us posted as it goes together. Getting the crank carrier and oil pump lined up is a trick for some people and following the process could be helpful here. Are you using the factory shop manuals?

Same question - I'm probably going to get off my butt and build a driving light harness and that seems similar to what IceShark used for his headlight kits.

I think they are totally useless I have never noticed them missing so why lose the tiny bit of power and add the weight?

Most people think the car vibrates alot or something with them missing but the reality its so slight of a vibration increase that I don't really care.
