Hey guys! I need ur 944 help again I want to lower my car 1" to a 1"1/2. I am currently running koni yellow adjustables, will these slip over my exsisting shocks and do the trick? I saw these on paragon's website. I have a 1990 S2. Obviously I can adjust the ride hieght it right.

http://www.paragon-products.com/

Thats for all the HELP!!!!!!!

924/944/968 Fr. Coil Over Kit

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

item# 944RideHeight price: $240

Finally, a cost effective way to gain almost infinite ride height control for the front of your 924/944/968. This kit features threaded collars that slip over your front strut and allow your new lower spring perch to thread up and down for ride height adjustment. Also included are upper spring perches, Koni Competition Bump Rubbers and specially sized Hypercoil springs available in a variety of lb. ratings. $240 for complete kit for BOTH struts, including springs. Note: The kit for non-rebuildable front struts (all 944 Turbo, all 944, 944S '87-on, all 944S2 & 968) will fit any Koni strut or any Sachs strut that has had the new Koni 8641-1414 Sport insert installed.
Our optional Spanner Wrench is the proper tool for adjusting the lower spring perch.

First off, I still want to know what "ur" is

From what I can figure out, the system will fit IF your Koni yellows are the newer inserts, (not the older one piece type). Keep in mind that you will need A) a front end alignment after you install the kit, B) corner balancing after you set the height, and C) springs that are compatible with your rear torsion bars. Also keep in mind that to lower the rear of your car that much, you will need to remove and re-index the torsion bars. As long as you are getting new front springs and the rear suspension has to be removed, you may want to increase the spring rates all around.
If you are only doing this for looks or a slight spring rate improvement, the 200/250 lb lowering springs that Paragon has for $104/114 will give you about an inch in the front and you should be able to get 1/2" to 3/4" in the rear with the adjustments, or you can reindex the stock torsion bars. You will still need n alignment after the installation and cornerballancingis still a good idea if the rear is adjusted.

I thought "your" was already pretty short

That link covers the whole product line, if you have the ones that you saw the old strut in half to install, you should be OK. Call Paragon and they'll hook you up.
Corner ballancing is the raising and lowering of adjustable suspension components to make the car sit level. Think of it as a table with adjustable legs, if they aren't adjusted correctly the table wobbles. A cars suspension travel will hide the visible wobble, but the handling will suffer if the adjustment is incorrect. By adjusting the height while watching the weight, you can adjust until the weight is distributed equally. The stock setup has some adjustment in the rear and that will allow you to adjust until the rear matches the front. It is reccommended that this be done whenever any one (or more) corners is adjusted, to get everything back in sync.

"So those coilovers dont come with springs?"

Yes, they do come with springs and you can select from an infinite variety of standard 2.5" springs in any rate you want. The Paragon coil-over kit will fit over any year strut. For your car, I would recommend 10" 250-lb springs. You only need the early strut-housing if you want to quickly change out your inserts.

I've got an installation procedure for those coil-overs on my 951 RacerX website. The coil-over installation is pretty simple. I did it at the same time as adapting a set of pre-'85.5 944NA struts to my 951 so it took me two days instead of one.

Koni struts will allow the use of the coil-over kit mentioned, if they meet this criteria:

The kit includes adjustable lower perch, spring, top perch, and Koni bump rubber.

Alternatively, there is an H&R special spring for the S2/968 application that also lowers the ride height approximately 1":

Good Luck!

"Koni struts will allow the use of the coil-over kit mentioned, if they meet this criteria"

AH-HAH !!! So that's why I had such a large gap between my struts and the coilover collars, it only measured 53mm compared to the Koni's 54mm...
