Default Wheels, Suspension & Brakes

I'm currently in the middle of overhauling my suspension on my 1985.5 944, new rotors/pads and am now kinda being forced into buying a set of wheels. Going to use this thread as my home base for the moment updated with any questions/problems I have!

What I'm doing:

Suspension
I'm not trying to do anything crazy, just keep maintenance in check with efficient/cheap upgrades when applicable. I have all new shocks/strut inserts ready to go on the car and just replaced my front sway bar bushings because one had ripped itself apart. I know I need to do my A arm bushings, top strut mount & bushing, probably ball joints too and whatever else is necessary. Listening to potential advice.

Wheels
My 15" Fuchs need 3 new tires. I have wanted to upgrade to 17's for a long time now, as I'm just not a fan of the huge sidewall of the 15's and would like for some wider tires. I've been searching the forums for a while now about this and know I need somewhere along the lines of 1-1.5" spacing depending on what offset and wheel width. The unfortunate thing is I'm in a hurry, so I need to make this happen ASAP. The wheels I'm looking at the Boxster S II's and are currently available used locally for a good price.

2 X 17X7 ET55 front wheels with 205/50/17 Michelin Pilot Sports tires
2 X 17X8.5 ET48 rear wheels with 255/40/17 Sumitomo HTRZ II tires

^ Is what is currently mounted on the wheels.

What is the best possible spacing configuration I should aim for? I should eventually put 225's on the fronts right? I wonder if there's anywhere local I can get spacers/adapters from because I'm pretty sure the ebay stores selling 1-1.25" adapters are going to take a while to get here. Either way I need to figure out what spacers I need and where to purchase them today. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Has anyone put these wheels on a 944? I can't seem to find a single picture!

Well I went with 1.25" spacers front and back, hopefully nothing rubs! Thanks for nothing!

When I bought my '89 951 the PO had those wheels on it. Actually looked kinda ok but needed big spacers from memory which is a no no, especially on the fronts.
Perhaps on an earlier n/a you might be ok?

Pretty much need spacers for any wheels except for my 15's. I really don't see any way around using spacers if you want to run 17's. Especially not on a limited budget!

That doesn't look half bad though, the twists might fit the car a little better, but then again these are lighter!
