Post Rubber pressure plate inspection plug

1987 924S in the shop and I noticed after getting under it for other reasons, the mechanic had left off the Rubber plug that covers the inspection hole for clutch pressure plate.

Can't get hold of him till Tuesday, hopefully it hasn't been tossed. I assume it would be not too smart to drive in the rain with this missing. Also if he can't locate it, does any one know where one may find one......

tks,

tks

Are you sure there is a plug? I assumed their was, and went to the dealer looking for one. After the parts guy and I looked through PET for about 10 minutes, we came to the conclusion that there is none. Driving in the rain won't hurt anything IMHO.

Wow, maybe you could find the one that goes in the top too? That is the one I really want. You know, up by the crank angle sensors.

Stoddards in Ohio sells them, quick to ship too. Make sure you have the part number, much easier to order.

Tabor, I've never seen one for the top hole and do not believe there is one. The part number I referenced is for the round plug on the driver's side of the bell housing.

Zeak, the PET is the Porsche electronic parts catalog on CD. It's normally a dealer only item but there are numerous "cracked" versions floating around eBay. It has part numbers for all Porsches, including European. This is very handy because you can actually order Euro parts here in the US. My Euro rear bumper should be here next week
