You know, I saw a red one just like that once. like someone took an early 944, and chopped off the roof to make it a cloth top. I wonder where it was done.

That thing is a mess! I do not understand aftermarket cabrios. There are probably some decent parts in there though, but the current bid of 200 bucks is about all that thing is worth.

I guess you are not familiar with the many covertible offerings in 1984 - more like the lack of convertible offerings in 1984. No BMW, No Porsche besides the 911, No GM or ford or chrysler - maybe one, but no firebird, mustang, camaro, corvette in 1984. No Miata yet, No Triumphs or MGs left, and the list of NOes goes on.

Straman and Heinz P of ASC were making convertibles out of hard tops - Oh yeah no PCs with computer graphic programs taht could analyze structural ridgidity. so what you see is what we got.

Actually I am familiar with a lot of aftermarket cabrio examples, many of them are great, not this one though. But I guess thats probably due to the age of it, plus I don't think this is ASC. But ASC has done some awesome work, I've seen quite a few of their examples, not to mention their close work with Porsche. But yeah, as far as sports cars go, not many convertibles offered then.
