Best Brake Pads? Mintex? Hawk?

I'm running Porterfield R4s carbon/kevlar (street compound) and I think they meet your requirements quite nicely. No squeaks, minimal dust.
They grip hard too
Just another option for you....

I bought Mintex pads from Performance products. They were inexpensive (even at Perf. Products!) and they grip fantastic, have no squeal, and very little brake dust. I have white Fuchs and they show everything. I'll buy Mintex again when I need pads.

Actually, rotors are cheap and aftermarket street pads are not tangibly harder on rotors than OE. Track pads can be hard on rotors. Street pads rarely are.
I've put 24000 miles onto a set of OEM zimmerman rotors using MM pads on the street and about 30 hard track days with rotor-unfriendly pagid track pads. The rotors have another 15-20K in them at least. I burn through 1.5 sets of $280 track pads a year and I'm stil on the same set of $130 rotors in the front and the original 1986 rotors in the rear.
It's not often you get a wear and tear item like rotors that can last 5-17 years or costs as little as $130.

On my Ford Contour the front rotors brand new were $20! Hmm..$15 to get them turned at a shop or $20 to replace it...decisions..

I just put new Metal Masters on my 944S2 and I am very happy with them. I had a '87 951 two years ago and I put Mintex on that car. The Mintex seem to have gripped faster as was noted by people that drove my car. But the 951 didn't have ABS and my 944S2 does. I think that this may have made a large difference. Both pads have low brake dust compared to OEM.

I rebuilt the brakes on my car last Summer complete with a new front set of Mintex pads. I finally took them off in February because I was disgusted with the HUGE amount of dust and loud squeal from the Mintex pads. To be fair, these are the cheap Mintex pads.
I replaced the front pads with Hawk ferro-carbon pads. They are by far the best stopping pads I've ever used. Dust is minimal. MetalMasters don't dust much either, but the Hawks grip much better. Mintex ferro-carbon pads (C-Tech?)may be as good or better than the Hawks, I don't have any experience with them.
I bought the Hawks from Tire Rack for about $70. I think Performance products has them somewhat cheaper now.
Anyway, if you or anyone else can use the pads that fit the front of my '83 NA, I sell you a slightly used set cheap.
