Thanks for the link to that story! I'm a big F1 fan and would love to see Porsche compete against the works of Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, etc. I never thought it would happen though just due to the money factor. The cost of R&D alone is in the multi-millions and then you have operational costs and so on and so on. Well, I could go on about all the additional factors but nonetheless, I would love to see it. I just hope it is not at the cost of seeing Porsche going bankrupt over it and it being swallowed up by VW or Mercedes. I hope Dr. Wiedeking knows what he is saying when he stated the following "The smallest independent automobile manufacturer in the world is about to move forward into an entirely new dimension."

Can you imagine the Shumacher brothers driving for Porsche F1...OK it's a reach .

Now all that they need is Kimi and Schuey and they would be unbeatable. Although I don't think that Schuey would leave Ferrari.

I don't think shui will be around in 2005, I think he is going to stay on till he has the most championships of all time, he only needs one more after this year, and then you will see him bow down gracefully and retire. He has been at the top for so long, and he thought about calling it quits after that bad accident. But that is just my guess.

Anyway, I bet we see Audi in F1 before Porsche. Audi has been the champ at Le Mans, and they only have one place to go from there F1. Again this is just a guess, but VW is switching its image to being more lux, and Audi more sport, so they can go after MB and BMW respectivly. So what better what to showcase yourself to the world that with F1? I would love to see porsche back into the top levels of motorsports, i am just not holding my breath for them to follow through.

It makes perfect sense, especially considering that the new Carrera GT has a V-10 engine. Even Ferrari passed on a V-10 for its new Enzo, a car designed to play off Formula 1 heritage, in favor of a smoother V-12.

Sorry, it won't happen. Way, way too much money for them to have to ante up. Will that sell them more cars? If they haven't been able to race for the last couple of years while their engineers prepped the Cayenne, won't F1 bankrupt them for the next decade of developing new cars?

Stay positive! Porsche's return to F1 would be WONDERFUL! All we'd need is Mika to come back and race for us.

F1 is so extremely competitive right now that if Porsche joined and flopped it could be a huge image disaster. Plus, with the relatively little racing Porsche is involved in right now it's maintaining its image quiet well.

Unfortunately Porsche has stated adamantly that the Carrera GT and the engine designed for it will not be going racing. I'm not sure where I saw this, but I think it was one of the major car magazines. (R&T I think)

Nice to see you gus want finnish drivers to drive this possible Porsche F1 car.Mika H. won't come back, he is having his looooong holiday now and just film those Mercedes commericials all over Finland & central europe. The rumor has it that Mika and his wife Erja are considering to have an another baby. So, this will keep Mika H. busy..
Don't know has it been in the racing news in the states, but another finn, Mika Salo won't continue with Toyota after this season.I suppose he will have loooooonger Holiday than Mika H.
So only Kimi available at the moment, but don't worry, lots of potent young drivers are coming up.I can't beat my 14 year old son anylonger with karting Ok, i suppose he won't be the next finnish F1 driver, he dreams of NHL..
