Blower
I have a blower that won't work in a 1981 924. The fan works when connected directly to the battery, I have the early slider controls not the newer twist switch arrangement. Anyone offer any help ?

Its going to be either a fuse, the relay(under the dash, #1 i believe) or the radiator fan temperature switch. THe Haynes maunal has a procedure for testing the different components, if you've got one.
If not, fist check the fuse. Duh! I'm guessing you did this already. Next, to test the relay, remove the wires from the radiator fan temp switch. They are located near the top drivers side portion of the radiator. Its underneath the big cooling hose that goes to the engine. If the fans run when with the temp switch bypassed then you know that the switch is faulty. If they don't run, look at the relay. Good luck!

If it uses the same setup as the early 944's I believe that there are resistors that go bad. They are located under the plastic fan cover that is in the center at the lower edge of the windsheild in the engine compartment.
