Post Will Koni inserts work with factory option 474 (sport shock absorbers)?

Was wondering if the 8641-1414S Koni inserts will work for 944's with the factory 474 sport shock absorber option? The shocks in the car now are believed to be as from the factory and they are yellow in color. No adjustability for height in the spring area. I think these are Bilstein shocks from the factory, but don't know for sure.

I've read some of the threads about the Koni insert and they all mention regarding the Sachs shock absorber, but don't mention if the inserts will work with this factory option. I'm afraid that once you cut the body of the shock that the diameter is either too small or too large to work with the Koni insert.

Anyone try this before or have any data on this application?

Thanks,

*****

I suppose you got Konis. Our P-car importer has an offer just now for factory 474 sport shocks. At least they are Konis.I suppose 8641-1414S will fit into your struts.Ask from Skip/Paragon, he will know for sure.

The M474 option used only Koni front struts. Part #'s 951.343.031.06/032.06 (found under the dust boot, mid-way on the top section of the strut body, either metal-tamped or a foil sticker)

Also, the M474 option did not include ride-height adjustable struts - but the aftermarket kit will fit the M474 cases.

The Koni 8641-1414S inserts do indeed fit inside the M474 strut cases. No other modifications are required outside the scope of the provided and online instructions.

Good Luck!

Thanks Skip and Olli for the information!

Just wanted to be sure that there wasn't an issue of fit before making a move on that upgrade.
