Default 2 Mysteries in early 944

Any idea what this hole is in the passenger side footwell ? It goes to outside air so I'm planning on plugging it.

Found this relay behind the cluster, no wires disconnected near it.

Any help or guesses is appreciated

I don't think that's a DME relay.

And that hole iirc should have a plug.

I'm guessing the slow speed function works well. The slow speed resistor connectors are mint. That relay probably dissappeared from the PO...

The relay looks like a flasher relay? If you can read off the numbers for the terminals, it may help decode its function. I see a 15 and 31. Some circuit numbers are fairly unique.

The relay is a tall one, that limits the search... The car is an early. That also limits the search. The early AC relay is a 6 pin relay and tall, so that's not it. The mulitfunction relays are short and 4 pin, this one is tall. Dunno on this one...
