Post callaway turbo kit

This may sound like a dumb *** question. What is a callaway turbo kit and how much does it cost. Can anyone give me a rough estimate?

callaway motors made a turbo conversion for the 83-85 944. They don't make it anymore. You'd have to find one on eBay, I've seen them there in the past (once or twice).

OK, I know it's easy for me to talk about this because I will never do it (I'm building a racing car for a class allows few engine mods and certainly no turbocharging), but....

This can be recreated. It amazes me how folks will say you can't turbo an NA, yet they want to buy a Calloway kit. There is nothing Calloway did that cannot be recreated. In fact, turbo technology has come a long way in 20 years. It should be fairly easy to make a better set-up.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

Geo is right. If you have the patience, it can be done. If you have the money, it can be done faster. And I wouldn't recommend using the IHI RHB6.

One thing to keep in mind if you wish to replicate the Calloway specification is that you must lower the compression by about a full point. The others are right however, it's not rocket science to turbo a 944; it just takes a commitment to do it right and the $$$ to do it.
