Default I want pictures of NON porsche wheels on a 944

I have big plans for my car this summer, i'm hoping to do a widebody kit (there's one in development by a guy on one of the 948 sites) along with some wider wheels. I'm thinking that i'll buy some adapters like these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheel...Q5fAccessories) that will allow me to run way more styles of wheels because of a much more common lug pattern. I'm thinking about running 15X10 all the way around...or maybe 15X12 in the rear with a 15X10 in the front...and i've been considering wheels like this (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...-1&showValue=1) mainly because of price, but also because i think they would look pretty nice with a deep lip on a 944. i'm not looking to break the bank here...in fact, i'd like to keep the overall investment around 800 bucks so suggest accordingly!

so, if you have pictures of a 944 with non 944 wheels, i want to see them! Especially if the wheels are something more readily available, maybe like c5 corvette wheel or a mustang wheel, i don't know...surprise me!

Thanks guys!
Ethan

i was considering going with 18" Porsche wheels... i absolutely love the 997 turbo wheels but they are 19" and i don't like 19" wheels. but, when i saw these on a 993, (3rd photo is the 993) i decided i liked them the best and i got them. the fronts are 18x8.5 and the rears are 18x10

what are they and how much do they run? they look nice...not a very deep lip, but that's not essential!

edit: phew! you guys are talking $$$$ here...I'm just a lowly college kid with a budget! Steve...those are gorgeous wheels, but don't ccw's run well upwards of a grand?

Starting at $2400 and up.
Please do not put chevy or ford wheels on the car.
Look for a good set of used wheels.

You should have been more clear on the budget needs. You might get 2-CCW's for a grand, certainly not 4. If you go with adapters with new bolt centers you have to be very specific that any non-Porsche wheel and adapter be hubcentric, not lugcentric. Personally I would be very careful about spacers and wider wheels or look for some old and wider BBS or Enkei's in 15" and no spacers. If you have a late offset and plan on a widebody kit you can run about any early offset wheel you can find.

i'm not even going to consider spending close to what i bought the car for on a set of wheels, that's ridiculous! i really don't understand why so few people will look outside of the common 944/porsche wheel types when they look for something new. I really don't see what's so wrong about putting a c5 corvette wheel, or a cragar wheel, or any type of JDM wheel on a 944, especially when they're cheaper and much more readily available in different styles and sizes.

I have no problem with most wheels that people have on their cars...in fact many of them are very good looking wheels (some can't be beat!) but i can't justify to myself putting that much money into one set of wheels, when all of that could go into a nice widebody kit, a resealed hatch, engine seals and bearings etc etc

i mean, what's wrong with this?

edited original post accordingly...thanks for the advice

i was thinking about something like that, an early offset wide wheel, that would probably fill the fenders pretty well. are there people who have had bad experiences with spacers/hubcentric adapters before that can pipe in and share they're experiences and what they would/wouldn't do?

I've got Fikse FM5's on my car - get a lot of compliments on them...PO put them on so I can't take any credit, but they are nice...

dude you're never gonna find tires for those wide *** 15" sizes. And if you are looking for nice wheels and you're on a budget, it might not happen. My advice is to piece your own set together.

+1, ask any of the 930 guys how hard/expensive it is to get tires for 15x10/11/12.
It's even hard to find wide 16's nowadays.
