t-bar out of what? the torsion carrier or the spring plate? There are splines on both ends, you gotta give that sucker a couple of good yanks.

There, queued somebody up for a really bad off-color joke.

Yes, you can smack the snot out of the spring plate to get it off. Use a BFH.

seriuosly WTF am i missing? BFH'ed on the end of the spring plate cap to try to PUSH the tbar out. nothing. tapped a punch thru the cap and BFHed on the punch. NOTHING.

is there that much RUST between the tbar splines and the spring plate splines?

Was there grease on the other end? They should be greased for this reason - my 89S2 still had loads of grease on the ends when I removed them. If there is no evidence of grease on the free end, then it is likely the tbar has been fused to the spring cap. All I can suggest is gently heating the cap end up, or use a slide hammer.

The mythical "time machine" solution! Go back to West Germany in the mid 1980s (you or send a robot) and grease those splines!

Sounds like rust. Maybe heat the end cap and cool the bar? If all fails, I have a set of spring plates that I've promised to another guy. I can ask him if he pities you enough to let me send them to you.
