ok i've avoided it long enough, its squirting like a friggin fountain.
need to remove cross member sooo....my options for supporting the engine....cherry picker...and what else?i've heard of a engine support type thing, can anyone put up a picture or tell me where i can find one? i dont really wanna dish out 200 for a cherry picker just for this job.
is it possible to maybe support the engine with a couple jacks or jack stands with some wood on em?
thanks

Here is a way to support the engine.

BTW cost for materials should be ~$45

and for your oil pan gasket; CLEAN, CLEAN all surfaces. Put just a touch of gasket sealer in the corners on the block at the front and rear.
Have a bunch of paper clips,,,open them up, then open one end, stick up through the pan into the spacers on the gasket - every other one. Works like a champ.

My mechanic machined one that looks like a strut tower brace. Bolts to towers, straps to motor at motor lifts, adjustable, etc. Cost about $35 to make and he made it adjustable in all directions to fit different motors and car types. Think of a strut tower brace with verticle tabs that hang C-clamps or tow clamps to hold up the engine. Works great!
