Post Bursch Exhaust Sound Clip/Video

I made a quick video clip (with sound) of my 85.5 NA w/ Bursch Exhaust & Headers. Clip is about 3 mb in size, and 30 secs or so long.

I don't want to hassle with uploading it to my webpage b/c of all the security stuff IU has in place for off-campus networking... but if you want to know what the Bursch setup sounds like, drop me an e-mail at micahjones@aol.com and I'll send it out.

NOW THATS A NICE SOUND!

I have a '86 NA with NO mods. Will it sound the same?

How much for the exhaust?

Will it sound the same without the headers?

Thanks as usual.

OK,

Performance Products has the 944 ('83-'89) Bursch Tuned Exhaust for 279.95.

Since we all know that Performance Products charges twice as much for its products, anyone know of a place that has this exhaust for cheaper?

It also says in the catalog that this exhaust will be louder and have a lower deeper sound than the OEM stock muffler - true?

Thanks again.

Micah,

Here is a tip... make sure the garage is open if you are running your car inside the garage...lol.

or else this will happen for a very long time

Eric,

It's actually a barn (welcome to IN) with no overhead lighting. It was open - you can see how bright it is outside the car from the sun (behind me) and the *** of the car was sticking outside What made you think it was closed?

Besides, as long as no one knocks the garden hose out of my exhaust...

Okay,

I have to return my media stuff here pretty soon (heh) but I'm going to try and get a couple of acceleration runs in with the car - I had the barn door open and the car half out last time (it's a PITA backing her out all of the way - through grass w/ a gravel incline) but I'll try and get some nice highway noises in there for those who asked

Let me know if there are any special requests... we're on state "education" money for another 30 odd hours

Micah,

Nice video. Your car sounds good from the inside. An outside shot would be nice as well.

I have to ask one question though. According to your temp. guage your car was stone cold when you started it up. (unless your guage is broke)

Please take no offense by this, I am just trying to be helpfull.

Did anyone ever tell you that you are supposed to go very easy on your car until it warms up. You are not supposed to rev it or get on it hard until it warms up at least a little, preferably 180deg. You had the car at 5500+ rpm only 10 seconds after you started it. Thats not good. Especially with no load on it. Keep that up and your engine will last a month.

I am just trying to be helpfull

Class J,

Yes, I am aware. The car was not stone cold - she had been running 15 minutes before I shot the video (I realized I had to turn her off to start the '83 and move her as well.) The gauge is just above the bottom marker.
This car is NEVER thrashed, started twice a week - and I had to go to work - hence the last minute revving. If you notice as well, the last three revs were smooth and easy to 3k... exactly.

You also didn't get to see that the car was allowed to get to operating temp (because of this being one of her weekly starts) as I was loading my stuff... into my other 944.

Don't worry, big guy... I'm sure she'll be okay.

No prob,

Again, just trying to be helpful. I have seen too many people with blown engines that say to me things along the line of:

"Really, no one ever told me I should check my oil" etc, etc.

So after years of not saying anything when I see things. Now I just say them in the hope of saving people trouble.

The car sounds good though.
