Post Great Pics From Today

Just some pics I took at the shop today. I recently added some polished Fuchs to my car. Tell me what you think.

And here is a cool little edit I did in photoshop..

Thumbs up

Shaun,

I love the Fuchs, did you polish them yourself? I have a set of 930 offset 7's and 8's that I intend to put on my guards red SC. In my spare time I've been hand and machine polishing them. Like your's, I'm doing the pedals and the lips. I've decided to paint the background area of centers silver or platinum like the rough anodized look in the wheel enhancement advertisements. I think it will look sweet and give the fuchs a new life.

Yes, I went over all the rims with some basic turtle wax polishing paste that I purchased at the VONS grocery store down the street. This works fine bringing out the shiny wheel under all the oxidation on it. The fronts were covered so heavily with break residue that I actually had to use a machine to polish them up. The background color of the wheels were originally white and I masked them off and sprayed them black then added clear coat onto them.

Any better resolution pics of just your car?
John has a few in his camera, i'll try to get them up on the board.

WHO stole my Ruf Speedlines?!
One of John's customers has had these rims for quite a while

I had done this before but a cop pulled me over for no front plate and also wrote a ticket for no side marker lights.

take care,

Thats funny, i thought you don't have to use lights during daytime as we have to.
My marker lights works perfectly while dark because of that transparent paint.

Yes taillights are painted too.
I used german Dupli Color transparent paints.
There is red, black, blue, green, amber & yellow transparent paints available.

Next step will be adding those clear front blinker glass i should have during couple of weeks.I just think amber does not mix with black car.
I also ordered AIR style front spoiler lip which i also should have quite soon.

Those are the 18" wheels, right? Post pics!

Sauerkraut, you'll have a fun time looking for a set of these wheels. I contacted Ruf in Germany a little while back and spoke to a guy who used to sell Ruf products in the States and they don't make the wheels anymore. There aren't many out there either. New they were $750/wheel so even if you find them you'll be hard pressed to find them for the right price. The fronts are 17x8 and the rears are 17x9, I forget the offset but they come out to the fender line perfectly on my 968. I found mine in an auto parts consignment place and they had been sitting around for YEARS. I spent 3 weeks in the back yard working on them [touching them up, removing curbs, etc] before they were presentable, I LOVE these wheels.
