Teaching my little brother how to drive manual on the 951
I know I know
I am trying to start his interest in cars, as he just turned 16 and has very little desire to get his own car, drive, etc.
Yesterday was his first day after I insisted he learn to drive manual and he was not bad, although there were certainly a few times when I cringed, stalling with the brakes on 100% (I convinced myself he did not make the timing belt skip a tooth ), slipping the clutch too much, very jerky shifts, etc, he did much better than when I taught my sister.
This afternoon I had to drive him somewhere and he casually goes "So am I driving?" He never asked that before He didn't do so bad, just stalled it a few times while holding the brakes and other newb stuff. I think he is starting to see the light, although he may curse me for the financial doom I am setting him up for!
Hopefully he will realize some day how lucky he is to drive a nicely modded 951 with a learners permit. I can't say it was even a pipe dream for me

oh man. i can't imagine yer clutch job coming up :P
i taught my ex driving on my rsx. she got to be able to get the car moving w/o stalling in the parking lot. even shifted into 2nd a couple of times.
he's so lucky. i learned to drive on a stick honda accord. clutch was like a truck.

I'd be scare to learn on that nice of a 951. With my luck I'd break something.

Omg. Ha. Lx? No ours is a EX. It has the like... double exhaust. I have the "upscale" version. Muahaha. Upscale other than the speedometer not working, badly faded paint, fan for air not working, rear driver side window broken (not the window itself), the 300 thousand miles that are on it... jeez. I could go forever. Ha. But I love that car.

Oh ok. That sucks. They are great little cars. Lol. Yea we bought ours without a front bumper. It was like... that close to being junked. We got it fully detailed and everything and it's actually pretty clean. We've had it for six or seven years. It's been through my sister, and my brothers. That thing has taken a beating. Ha.
