Don't forget that the stickers and manuals are usually quoting ratings using the (euro) RON number, vs. the R+M/2 numbers on our pumps. There is no formula to convert ratings that I know of but FWIH it's safe to use octane 2 pts lower than the number shown.
RE my previous post, S2s , 968s etc with higher compression do of course need more octane than other models.

I paid $1.74 for 87 yesterday. Luckily it has been cold enough so I can get away with running the "cheap" stuff. Not looking foward to when i have to go back to the good stuff at almost $2.00 a gallon when it starts getting above freezing.

You guys have nothing to complain about. I try and cut through the states as often as possible because of your gas prices
