- Replaced the odometer gear on the eve of the trip.

Drove it 800 miles or so from Barcelona to Cadiz, Spain, only to have the starter fail.

- Had the starter repaired in record time

Put in on a boat to Tenerife, Canary Islands, where it will retire for vacation duty only in a warm, dry climate that is likely to preserve it for another 10 years of ownership!
You've only put 40k miles on your car in 10 years???

Hmmm lets see.

All new black interior, including a new dash.
New tires.
CPR Splitter.
Sound System.
LED front turn signals.
New 3" exhaust.
Rear seat delete.
New under radio gauges.
Cruise control delete.
A couple of oil changes.
New spark plugs.

And I am sure I am missing some stuff.

Yes, I gave the car to my father back in 2003 and he hasn't driven it much. He recently got another car, so it's back in my hands.

Here we are together celebrating the ol' S2's retirement:

Bought a CPR Splitter (haven't installed it yet).
Pulled the cover off of it.
Changed the oil in the spring when I pulled it out of garage storage.
Drove it 800 miles total all year.
Whacked the GT Racing Splitter on a piece of roadkill, cracked it in the middle, so now it really needs to have the CPR Splitter installed.
Changed the oil in November when it went back into storage.
Put the cover back on it.

Now thinking about cheating on it with an e36 M3.

I fixed the HCV so now I can turn the heat off (for the first time in years)!
I replaced the speed/ref sensors.
I put like 10k miles on it!

In 2009 I bought my first 944 from a friend/ customer and use it as my daily driver. When I bought it from him I had already wrapped the dash in alcantara, and last month finally did the door tops and the shift boot. Next will be the seat faces. the leather is old so I will replace it, maybe with the "Porsche" print cloth in blue and add the Porsche crest to the headrests. Other than that, I did a few auto crosses with it and will do driver eds with it next year, 2010.

This will be my next project. Either I will continue in this direction or do a GTS Carrera twin turbo conversion. What do you think? Actually I saw it for sale and took pictures. Thought it was funny.

I must be a fool. That combines both my vehicles into one. The perfect solution.
