Best race diff for 6-sp 968?
I put in an order for a Quaiffe ATB three months ago, but the vendor hasn't come back to me yet so I've started looking at the alternatives. I've noted that the G50 diff will fit the 6-speed tranny, which opens up to Cup-type differentials.
The reason for going with a Quaiffe ATB in the first place is that I only have stock horsepower (236), but thinking long-term I'd like to get more ponies as the handling is just about magic in these cars.
Racing is on the horizon, so I'd like to know what differential the fellow Rennlisters would buy? (I have an open type at the moment, which means poor exit speed out of slow corners due to wheelspin)

learn about the guy who owns 928 motorsports, Carl Fausett... he has made a supercharger kit that stems from years of experience running them in 928s for the street and endurance events... runs about 6-7 pounds of boost for the 968 and makes about 90 hp, with stock exhaust. keep the ac...

Just wanted to add that I didn't order the diff directly from Quaiffe, but from a reseller.
Any ideas for a race differential?
The idea of a supercharger for more ponies is noted, thanks

Hey this will be interesting -also looking for tranny in my 968 -thinking 5 speed for short tracks and 6 speed for longtracks -final ratio is key -on boost so fast that six speed is a ton of work -are you saying the guys in 928's could possibly help with this set up -thanks

Unless you've got years of experience, which it sounds like you don't, the stock Porsche LSD is fine.
If you need better than that, get a Guard 50/80. If you need better than that, get a custom Weisemann locker.

you guys did not read the second part of HIS POSTING...
----- "I only have stock horsepower (236), but thinking long-term I'd like to get more ponies as the handling is just about magic in these cars."
As a matter of fact, you can be sure he falls even short of that... the 968 cats are not really that good...
and for any 968 owner looking for more ponies there are three options...
1. 928 Motorsports - 968 supercharger, Carl Fausett, a Rennlist sponsor who has had his genius work STOLEN by some very bad people at the other 968 blogsite... the supercharger is now being readied for the S2.
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...harger_kit.php
2. turbocharging... costs more $$$...
3. i think the guy with the avatar "girl smoking" runs this this option...
