Silver Star European 60/55
If anyone wants some, I have pretty good boosted European bulbs for 60/55.
I have let some go to a USA Rennlister. So I may offer more to others. These are different and better than North American product. Well, I think it would be hard to find an H4.
Anyway, $15 each in the 60/55, or,if you chose to say, 55/60 watt.
$15 a copy. And then the shipping which will be 7 bucks for shipping and boxes and packing.

Are they a direct fit replacement for the round OEM headlights? In other words, are they "plug and play"? Or do I need upgraded harnesses? What benefit do they provide... better beam pattern?

Jim, John is correct. It is the H4 bulb that goes inside the lens.
It is a very tweeked 60/55 watt bulb. Since it is 60/55 watt you won't burn up your junk stock wiring.
I am evaluating samples and could buy some of these if guys wanted me to. While they are no where near as good as the re-wire and overwatt approach, they are much better than stock. I was just offering another lower level approach. These things are tough to find in North America in H4 and pretty dang expensive.
So just wondering if people wanted me to get a bunch. Which is what it would take to get a good price. Since not many seem interested, I'll just forget about it.

I might be interested, if the price is low enough.
Right now I'm torn between headlight upgrades or new tires this spring (barring anything else breaking!), but if I could have a little of both, that would be fantastic.
I haven't driven my car much , but those stock lights definately suck.

Keep me posted on the status of them. I am definetly interested. Plan on picking up a set of E-code Hellas early next month and doing a rewire through a relay. Have heard good things about them, and they are supposed to be a hell of a lot cheaper than PIAAs.

I have been advised that they are in fact better than any PIAA product. The stated reasons are PIAA's design and manufacturing is not as good. For example PIAA has a filter on their bulb which cuts down on light output.
But to prove it yourself you would need an expensive machine to measure.
Also, you will notice you can never find any published performance specifications put out by PIAA. That is so the customers can't figure out that the bulb isn't that great shakes and be mislead into buying overpriced bulbs.
One thing to keep in mind is that both are LEGAL halogen bulbs. That means they are limited in light output to 1000 lumens +/- 15%. So forget about any wild marketing claims, the premium 60/55 watt bulbs have a light output ceiling at 1150 lumens or they are not legal. PIAA's claims that 55/60w = 110/130w is a total crock of BS. I'm not sure how exactly they get away with this without someone nailing them for false advertising. You want to trust a carnival barker like PIAA for your bulbs?
Another item affecting performance and where the headlight lens directs the light is how the filaments are wound, placed in the bulb and the tolerances maintained. These German made Osram bulbs are as tight as anyone can make.

Don't waste money on super special ultra bright mega bulbs. Mid price bulbs from philips and osram are just as good or even better.
