Default Window Tint Advise

I feel like I need a new project for my daily driver. It definitely needs some sort of tint down here in FL.

I came across this: Porsche 944 1983 84 85 86 87 88 1989 Precut All Tint no affil.

Anyone use them?
Any advise, especially about doing the rear hatch?

Famous last words - How hard can it be.

I've never tinted my 951 because I'm afraid of how the hatch would turn out. Traditionally it'll take at LEAST 2 sheets of tint to do the hatch, and if not extremely carefully applied, it'll peel and look like *** after a bit. or you get a nice gap between the sheets. I'd consult these guys and see if their kit has 1 or 2 sheets of tint for the 944 hatch. if it's 2, I'd have it professionally installed.

due to its size and compound curves a 924/944/968 hatch is supposed to be one of the most difficult to tint.

another issue it the delimitation of the black "trim" around the windows. tinters normaly use this as a transition area to start/end sheets. if your car is anything like mine, all the black trim has pealed off and to look proper, tint would have to go to the extents of the glass. there is no room for error (and the precut sheet may be too small)

I'm sure there's a reputable tint shop in your area. I'd let them do it. I've done tint a few times and I've never had it turn out nearly as good as the pros. If I were to do it myself, I'd take the glass out of the rear quarters and doors, tint it and reinstall. I'd still leave the rear to a pro though. And whatever you do, don't use ammonia based glass cleaner on your tint. I wouldn't use the pre-cut stuff and I'd buy the best tint available.

this is basically what my plan is with the exception of removing the front glass. door glass can be done very well in car. the rear quarter glass would be much better if done out of the car however (then you can go edge to edge)

and it's damn easy to remove and reinstall the quarter glass.
