Post Headlight and Battery Packages

I am out of supplies on both, so does anyone else want in? I would like to know for a wrap up supply order to fill the last guys and have a couple extra. I really don't want a few hundred feet of #1 AWG cable left over. And these big terminal ends that cost almost a buck each, wholesale.

Can you believe (C)Don Johnson tried to go across Europe with 8 BILLION in securities in his bag? The Swiss caught him and wondered what was up. For you younger guys this the Crockett guy from Maimi Vice fame. I met him in Palau once, and he didn't seem like a guy that would end up with 8 BILLION. Rich, but not 8 Bill rich. LOL!

I will be interested in the light kit, but will need to wait two more months before getting it. Depending on the time frame you are looking to build them... I am in.

Thaddeus, got them and you should see replies.

Next time send to wraydan@msn.com so I can keep track of things by doing an e-mail sort by name. I have something like 500 guys that I need to keep track of, for something or another related to my Porsche activities. I'm doing this as a favor to people, not a biz, but it is getting a bit impossible from the standard PC. Please make it easier.

Jason, no intake removal, you can just yank the old cable under the intake and it will come out just fine. Then feed the replacement through.

You can go back and search price and description under my ID. Negatives $44, Positives $100, Supplemental fused Pos $54. Plus $15 ship. Or you can get just individual parts and the shipping will be a bit less. The checks I usually see on this are $213.

You might look into some contact-list type software to keep track of all these folks and what they need and what not...or a simple MySQL database would do the trick. Maybe a PHP front end to make the interface web-based...Hrm...Gotta love hobbies.

Scott,

Here is one thread:

http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=014776

This is the thread that tells you what you get and cost (add $15 shipping for the whole works):

IceShark, What would it take ($$) for you to make a pair of cables long enough for me to put my battery in the spare tire wheel well?

Dave, It would probably be pretty expensive to do correctly. Would be long runs, really heavy cable, harness sleeve the positive to starter and fuse it (so you don't burn your car up) at some monster number. Like 4 or 500 amps.

Ask some of the UK guys that have the rear battery what a replacement cable set would cost. That may be the way to go 'cause I could see this going over $200 pretty easy because of material cost. Just call your local welding shop and ask them what they want for 2/0 or bigger cable. Then double that for the fiberglass sleeve for the positive. And add in all the other bits and pieces.

I got 10 free sample 4/0 cable lugs by mistake from Molex. I called to ask what the heck these were and found out they were nearly $4 each wholesale. For $40 bucks of product they didn't want them back due to administrative costs. I plan on using them as duck decoy anchors next fall. LOL! But that gives you an idea what the bits will cost.

Plus, I can't do the development work for a one off. That is a lot of work to make an excellant product one wants to put their name on.

So, the component parts are going to cost a small fortune for such a long run. I suppose I could do it for you if you get another 50 guys that want it.

Iceshark, has anyone put together a walk-through installation with pics for the headlight kit yet? Really the only thing keeping me from ordering it is that several people have said getting the wiring harness installed is a bit of a pain...if I had pics to better visualize it I think I would order right away.

I'd love to have both of your kits, just dont' have the $$$ right now. Depending on what kind of job I get this summer it may be a possibility. I really want the light kit, but would probably do the battery cable upgrade "while I'm at it".
