Oh! Sixteen Candles do I ever remember them,unlike Jake my ride wasn't a red 944 but an old 1950 Ford convertible with a beautiful flat head V8 (no oil change in that one, that was unheard off) broke my piggy bank paid $100 for it. Everytime I'll hit a pothole or a railroad track both doors will fly open so I got this bodyshop to tack weld both of them in place (end of swinging doors problems) but what an hassle to get the girls in when came smootching time.Don't ask me how old I am.wish I had a time machine will go back there life was lees complicated then:

Thank you- Wipeout- that probably the reason I couldn't spot it on the later car pics it will be sitting pretty low in there,also notice something about his motor even though it's the same year as was my 944 the bleeding plug for the cooling systeme is not located on top of the rad hose wonder why?

Thanks alot for all the support guys. One other thing. Do you know if there is supposed to be a cover on the inspection hole for the flywheel? Seems to me there should be, but I wasn't quite sure.

That wasn't the original plan. Just worked out that way. I was going to get it shipped for a really good price, but that fell through, so then I had a car 1000 miles away and only 48 hours to get it. So that's what I had to do. I probably will not be doing that one again, but oh well.

We took that off the rocker panel and found out it had been replaced before. Doesn't look as bad as we thought it was going to be and we will hopefully get this one fixed up pretty soon. The quarter panel is still kinda worrying me, but I have faith that we can get it done and still make it look somewhat like its supposed to be.

We're checking on black metal right now and doesn't look like its going to be too bad price wise, $39.50 for an 18G 4x10 sheet (as measured the original steel is 20G, But that has to be special ordered). When they replaced the rocker panel before they overlapped the original material by about one inch then riveted/tack welded it in-place, not a clean job but I couldn't tell it had been replaced until after I was already taking it off because the coating on the bottom of the car covered it up.
