1/4 mile times for your 944's (stock)?
Anybody got em? Please post. 0-60 too if you have it. I read somewhere online somebody saying a 944 turbo was 0-60 in 5.5 and a 13.5 sec 1/4 mile. I find that kind of hard to believe, none of the 944's were that fast stock were they?

Actually the manual specs the 951 (944 turbo) i believe at 13.9...the Porsche handbook says 14. something...its up for grabs, they are fast...hell even a stock 951 with no mods will rip the pants off most "high performance" cars built today. Back in 86' when the 951 was released it was the fastest street car on the planet untill the Ferrari testarosa and Porsche Twin Turbo came out. Not bad.
I guess it depends on the driver.

Those 0-60 5.5sec and 1/4-mile in 13.5sec are for the TurboS model. Road & Track did a test that confirmed those measurements.
A normal non-S turbo will do 0-60 in about 6.0sec and 1/4 mile in 14.1 or so.
My medium-heavily modded car normally pulls times in the low 13sec and 105-110mph 1/4-mile times a couple of years ago. One time I actually had to shift into 4th gear! Then after Huntley blew my headgasket and a half-great/half-assed repair (too bad their top-mechanic got sick halfway through), the car hasn't been able to break out of the low 14s and 100mph mark. Time for a complete rebuild guess.

It's just a technicality, but quite cool =).
The best I could get when my car was stock was 14.5s. Nowadays, I run 13 flat without even trying.

ok there must be somthign VERRRRY wrong with my car.. I can only pull a consecutive 15.4 at 97.8mph. 3 times in a row. so maby it is my driving.
but i do know that the only car here in colorado that can pull on me is a modded 951 (go figure) even my friends mustang that is pushing the 450+ mark in HP stands still at over 80 and we both accelerate. so HP is not the biggest thing to consider. it is also the aerodynamics. and the gear ratios . I seem to remember the idea that porsche made the gear ratios in the 951 directly compatible with the powerband. am I right?
my reletively stock 951 has reached 170 and then i slowed down.
the only mod is chips. oh and no air filter at the track.

Didn't road and track get that 13.5 (and Porsche) using a short-geared trans?
The spec in my manual is 5.7 0-60 and 13.5 1/4 mile...but from the test results I've seen 0-60 is around 5.5-5.7...and 1/4 mile around 14.0-14.1. (These are for the turbo S/89 turbo).

I believe the turbo S was slower in the 0-60 mph than the non s (6.0 secs copared to 5.5 secs). But the turbo s was faster in the top end. The turbo S had a bigger hot side turbine and it had more turbo lag. Thats why it was slower than the non turbo in the 0-60, but having that bigger hot side turbine meant more hp on the top end and faster top speed than the non S.

I know of no road track other than a run way where you can get a stock 951 up to 170 MPH. So that leads me to believe you did it on public road. Witch means YOU ARE A DUMB ***.
and NO AIR FILTER AT THE TRACK? Have you heard of the concept of FOD=foreign object damage?

I got nothing against 924's...but
man - amaf - get real. Your automatice 924S would only be pulling 0-60 in 5.3 seconds if it were being towed by a 951.
Welcome to reality.
