Default Just installed Bursch headers/straight pipe thoughts

Just installed the Bursch header straight pipe combo and i must say im very impressed. Fitment is very nice and sound is badasssss. From behind the car it sounds like a rumbling v8 almost and when you get on it it lightens up to sound more european but still has that bass. Only problem is my tip is loose and rattles like a ricer I'll be building my own catback with some borla pipes and an XR-1 muffler (no tip) i'll post a vid as soon as i get it sounding good.

It was liek $320 from automotion which is a pretty good deal imo. Unfortunately i didnt take pics for this install because it was pretty simple and boring. Just heated up the catpipe bolts/header bolts, came right off. Stock header comes out when taken apart, and new header slid right up there without moving anything. Although i would recommend moving the heater valve hose if you dont have a good wrench set or patience. I need a new muffler because its rattling like a Honduh and its too embarassing to make a video out of yet. Soon i will though.

What matters most.... Is there any difference? More power (butt dyno), or better MPG?

thats what i bought. Horsepower wise i'd say maybe 10-15 tops. It just feels smoother and pulls stronger now. Only problem is i dont have my o2 sensor hooked up so it's probably running a little rich. I'm still getting good mpg like before though so maybe not.

Its in a different spot for the o2 sensor but i beieve its the same size. Mine is not connected cause the guy who messed with my exhaust before me somehow got the sensor stuck in the old bung...and i didnt feel like droppin $120 for a new one at the time. So all i did was took an old one i had layin around that happend to fit and plugged it...it's not hooked up though.

10-15hp is a little optimistic imo. Glad you like the upgrade though.

I wonder if the extra power is more related to the lack of a 25+ year old cat, and not so much the headers.

Not to be pessimistic, but I have both wanted this setup for a long time, and read hundreds of posts about making our little 2.5L 8v engine more powerfull.

Axing the cat seems to be a popular, and somewhat effective way of freeing up a few ponies, but the talk about headers is very mixed.

The setup defiantly looks good though. Looks very "racy". Just wonder if it feels "racy"?

that could be part of it. Stock cat felt really restrictive around 4k revs. But if you compare the stock headers to the Bursch the stocks are very restrictive in their design....With a good muffler the setup will sound very racy. Might be a little too loud for some people for street use but not for me!

thats what im worried about, being a bit to loud and sounding more rice than race. but you say with the stock muffler it sounds good? mabey ill start from there.
